Dr. Ean W. Burchell
I began my helping journey 30 years ago as a teacher, spending most of the past three decades at international schools in Japan, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, and Thailand. Living and working in diverse communities taught me the importance of culture in social-emotional health. At the same time, I came to understand how much we all have in common.
After a truly satisfying teaching career, I decided to deepen my ability to help others and completed School Counsellor qualifications with the Ontario College of Teachers, and later returned to full-time study in Counselling Psychology.
I integrate the best practices from a variety of counselling approaches to help you identify, understand, and re-shape your responses to challenging issues. My goal is not to ‘fix’ your problems, but to help you to empower yourself and lead a healthier, more satisfying life.
I am a member of the Thai Clinical Psychologists Association, the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, and the Ontario College of Teachers.
